Have you ever wanted an action figure of yourself, or of a character you created? How about a toy, or jewelry beads, or a gadget to fit over your USB drive?
With the advent of 3D printers such as
3D Art to Part,
Shapeways,
and Ponoko,
all of this is possible.
I haven't joined Turbosquid or
Thingiverse yet (they take a large cut from the artist's profit),
but I can offer my services directly to you! A simple 3D model starts at $50 and goes up from there. Paypal or check.
I can work from photographs or blueprints, or I'll sketch whatever you visualize and work from that.
Finding a suitable 3D printing service will be up to you, but I can provide a 3D mesh in whatever file format you need.
